About

I build AI systems that help people learn, grow, and do things they couldn’t do before.

At Google, I develop agent systems for domain experts in geospatial sciences and engineering. I lead Gemini capabilities in Google Earth so scientists and policymakers can query planetary-scale data in natural language to solve complex problems.

At Harvard, I research and design learning systems focused on learning-by-doing. Students apply their theory of change to build real AI systems from scratch for social impact.

In both contexts, I help people gain skills and expand what they can do through AI. Through end-to-end research, HCI design, and AI system engineering, I ensure the tools actually work for the humans using them.

Experience

2024–Present

Google Earth AITechnical Lead & Primary Inventor

Architected Google’s first geospatial reasoning agent, enabling scientists and policymakers to query planetary-scale satellite, weather, and population data in natural language.

2022–2023

Sidewalk Labs → GoogleComputational Design Engineer

Built LLM-based regulatory checks and generative 3D design for computational urban planning; product became Google Earth Design.

2021

SpatiometricsFounding Engineer

Founding engineer at NSF-funded startup; shipped core spatial analytics product measuring travel distances and spatial relationships in hospital floor plans.

2019–2021

Spacemaker AI (Autodesk Forma)Research Engineer / Fellow

Led product research translating generative design methods into usable civil engineering capabilities, increasing North American platform engagement by 350%.

2016–Present

Harvard GSD & SEASAdjunct Professor / Lead Instructor / Irving Fellow

Design learning systems and advise students building real AI for dementia care, respiratory health, and wildfire detection — from zero ML experience to working prototypes.
